Walsh Avenue Reserve Upgrade

Sydney Water’s $10 million project aims to upgrade its stormwater infrastructure alongside improvements to paths, open areas, and river edge treatments.

This includes channel naturalisation and water-sensitive design, where site conditions allow.

Established vegetation is spread throughout the reserve, often within areas required for access, bank works, and ground modification. Therefore, Tree Survey was engaged during early planning to provide arboricultural input.

To begin, we carried out a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to establish a precise, site-wide record of tree location, condition, and structure.

Next, an Arboricultural Impact Assessment identified how proposed works intersected with existing vegetation and where tree constraints would affect design and construction. These findings were translated into a clear, practical report for project teams.

From there, we devised a project-specific Tree Protection Plan to set clear parameters for working around retained trees and controlling on-site impacts.

All reports were delivered on time and within budget. This accurate, site-specific arboricultural information will help to ensure tree constraints are clearly understood and integrated throughout the project.
