Designed to support elite athlete training, community engagement, and high-performance operations, this $50M project brings the Dragons’ previously dispersed facilities together into a single, purpose-built site.
Key elements include two full-sized NRL fields, high-performance gym and sports science areas, aquatic recovery and medical facilities, along with dedicated spaces for education and research.
The scale of the development required careful coordination of construction works around existing vegetation, with trees located across key access routes and building interface zones.
In 2023, lead contractor Populous engaged Tree Survey on behalf of St George Illawarra Rugby League Football Club to provide arboricultural input during the assessment and planning stages.
We completed a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to pinpoint tree locations, condition, and structure. This informed an Arboricultural Impact Assessment that clearly defined construction impacts, including site establishment, excavation, and access. Finally, we prepared a tailored Tree Protection Plan to provide precise and practical direction during construction.
Our team works closely with project stakeholders, sharing clear, accurate, and actionable arboricultural insights to support efficient delivery. All services were completed on time and within budget.
