The Pennant Hills Road and North Rocks Road Upgrade formed part of Transport for NSW’s $450M Urban Roads Congestion Program. This particular project aimed to curb congestion, cut travel times and improve safety at one of Sydney’s busiest arterial junctions.

In 2023, Tree Survey was hired to deliver a range of arboricultural services to support the project’s planning and construction stages.

To start, we conducted a detailed Tree Survey throughout the project zone, plotting and recording the characteristics of each tree affected by the roadworks.

A Preliminary Tree Assessment was then undertaken to evaluate each tree’s condition and structural integrity, providing a clear basis for retention or removal decisions.

Next, our team prepared an Arboricultural Impact Assessment to analyse how proposed lane widening and other upgrades would affect existing trees.

These precise insights informed a Tree Protection Plan, which outlined recommended protection measures and management controls for retained trees.

Prepared in close coordination with project teams, all documentation was delivered on time and within budget. Ultimately, this practical arboricultural guidance supported design decisions and helped construction move forward at this high-traffic intersection.
