Munibung Road Upgrade (Cardiff)

The works introduced changes to traffic movements and pedestrian connections along Munibung Road, within a built-up urban environment shaped by existing services, mature roadside vegetation and constrained road reserves.

In 2022, Tree Survey was engaged during the planning phase to provide arboricultural input specific to the intersection footprint and adjoining corridors.

A Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment were undertaken to verify tree location, species and condition, establishing a clear record of existing vegetation affected by the works.

This information was assessed to determine how the proposed road layout would interact with nearby trees, with findings documented through an Arboricultural Impact Assessment. A project-specific Tree Protection Plan was then developed to set out detailed measures for managing retained trees during construction.

Ultimately, we focused on producing practical and precise arboricultural information that could be readily applied by project teams throughout delivery. All services were performed on time and on budget.
