Stage 2 of Transport For NSW’s More Trains, More Services program delivered significant infrastructure upgrades in preparation for future service expansions on the T4 Illawarra, T8 Airport and South Coast lines.
As part of this stage, lead contractor Transport for Tomorrow upgraded Waterfall Station and extended its platform to facilitate the Mariyung fleet. In 2022, Tree Survey was brought in to ensure vegetation across this site was carefully assessed and accounted for throughout planning and construction.
Our expert team delivered a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to establish an accurate record of species, health, and structural condition on site. We then completed an Arboricultural Impact Assessment to evaluate how construction activities may affect existing trees.
Finally, a Tree Protection Plan was developed, defining retention zones, specifying protective measures, and guiding crews on best practices to minimise environmental disturbance.
By combining detailed data collection with practical and precise insights, Tree Survey helped the project team deliver the Waterfall upgrade efficiently while safeguarding the surrounding environment. All services were completed on time and within budget.
