Its upgrade was delivered by Transport for NSW as part of the Safe Accessible Transport program, which aims to enhance safety, inclusivity, and ease of use for all public transport passengers.
Works included a new footbridge with lifts and stairs, an improved station entrance, increased canopy coverage, platform works and upgrades to lighting and passenger facilities.
With the new design requiring the removal of 18 trees and proposing 78 replacement trees, accurate arboricultural information was key to managing vegetation impacts across the site.
In 2025, Tree Survey was hired by lead contractor Aurecon Australasia to provide precise and reliable arboricultural information during project planning and delivery.
Our team completed a detailed Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment, establishing precise tree locations and providing clear, accurate drawings alongside reliable assessments of tree condition and structure.
An Arboricultural Impact Assessment then evaluated the effects of the proposed station works on existing vegetation, supporting informed decisions around tree retention and removal.
Lastly, we prepared a Tree Protection Plan with site-specific measures to help safeguard retained trees throughout construction.
These professional insights were delivered on time and within budget, helping the project team manage tree impacts while progressing accessibility improvements across Macquarie Fields Station.
