The Longworth Avenue Road Upgrade forms part of City of Newcastle’s $41M Western Corridor Road Upgrades, which is their largest road project to date.
Designed to ease traffic flow for thousands of road users who commute through Wallsend each day, this particular upgrade includes road widening, intersection changes and 7,100m2 of landscaping along key sections of Longworth Avenue.
In 2024, Tree Survey was engaged to provide specialist arboricultural support during the upgrade’s planning stage.
Our team completed a Tree Survey and GIS Analysis to accurately document tree locations across the project area, supported by a Preliminary Tree Assessment to record tree health, structure and condition.
An Arboricultural Impact Assessment was then prepared to assess potential impacts from the proposed works, followed by a Tree Protection Plan to guide tree management during construction.
Through accurate mapping, detailed tree assessment and practical protection planning, our work helped project teams deliver critical road upgrades while managing existing vegetation along an active transport route. All services were delivered on time and within budget.
