The Lapstone Station Upgrade was undertaken in 2020 as part of Transport for NSW’s $2.2B Transport Access Program, addressing accessibility and customer facilities at a suburban station serving the Blue Mountains line. Improvements included a new lift and station entrance, and more accessible parking, waiting room and toilet facilities.
As works were delivered within an operational rail corridor bordered by established vegetation, lead contractor Arenco (NSW) engaged Tree Survey to provide arboricultural insights that would support project approvals and construction planning.
Our role involved identifying and assessing trees affected by the station upgrade works through a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment. We also prepared an Arboricultural Impact Assessment to evaluate potential interactions between proposed construction activities and retained trees, and a Tree Protection Plan to clearly document tree management protocols during site works.
All arboricultural services were delivered on time and within budget, supporting efficient tree management and the coordinated delivery of accessibility upgrades in an active rail environment.
