The Great River Walk in Penrith is one of Western Sydney’s most scenic public assets—an 8km riverside trail showcasing panoramic views of the Nepean River and Blue Mountains.
In 2022, Penrith City Council improved accessibility and safety along this walk with the long-awaited installation of lighting between Jamison Road and Nepean Avenue.
Tree Survey was engaged by lead contractor HIX Group to ensure that all works were delivered with care for the river corridor’s mature vegetation.
We carried out a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to document existing trees along the works zone, followed by a detailed Arboricultural Impact Assessment to determine potential risks posed by the lighting installation. A subsequent Tree Protection Plan was developed to guide on-site works and preserve significant trees throughout.
Delivered under budget and with minimal disruption to local amenities, this project effectively enhanced visibility along the riverside route—all while maintaining its natural environment.
