Led by Transport for NSW, the Georges River Road and Milton Street Intersection Upgrade in Ashfield formed part of the government’s broader investment to tackle congestion and stimulate our post-pandemic economy. Works included the addition of two new lanes, a pedestrian crossing and updated utilities.
In 2020, lead contractor Arenco (NSW) Pty Limited engaged Tree Survey to provide specialist arboricultural services that would inform planning, design and construction activities on this key Inner West transport corridor.
Our scope included a detailed Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to accurately document the location, condition and characteristics of existing trees within and adjacent to the project footprint.
We then provided an Arboricultural Impact Assessment to clearly identify potential construction impacts and inform design and methodology decisions. Lastly, a comprehensive Tree Protection Plan was prepared to provide clear, practical guidance for managing trees during site works.
Importantly, this road upgrade required the removal of some mature trees, which were replaced with a 2:1 ratio. Throughout each stage, we worked closely with Transport for NSW and Arenco project teams to provide precise arboricultural information, clear drawings and actionable assessments.
Delivered on time and within budget, our services supported approvals, construction planning and risk management on a complex urban road upgrade.
