The Cooks River Cycleway forms a vital active transport link through the Inner West. Stretching from Tempe to Botany Bay, the shared path connects a chain of open spaces while threading beneath the Giovanni Brunetti and Endeavour Bridges.
Led by Inner West Council in partnership with Bonacci Infrastructure, this upgraded route completes a continuous connection with the Cook Park Recreational Cycleway — giving riders and walkers direct access to over 20 kilometres of riverside paths stretching to Sans Souci.
In 2020, Bonacci Infrastructure enlisted Tree Survey to provide arboricultural support during planning and construction. Our team was tasked with identifying and assessing existing vegetation to guide path alignment and minimise disruption to established trees.
Services included a detailed Tree Survey, Preliminary Tree Assessment, Arboricultural Impact Assessment, and Tree Protection Plan.
Together, these documents mapped the riverbank canopy with precision, defined retention and protection zones, and offered clear instructions for on-site crews.
All work was delivered within budget and on time. The outcome was a cycleway built with confidence and accuracy in a setting where urban infrastructure and natural landscape meet.
