Boonerah Point Reserve Playground Upgrade

The new facilities will provide an inclusive and imaginative place for children of different ages and abilities. Its design draws on Gurangaty, an Illawarra Dreaming story connected to the formation of the region’s rivers and waterholes.

Planned features include talking tubes, a track rider, gondola snake swing, inclusive spinner, sandstone climbing elements and a cliff rider. A slide tower, vertical climbers, three-bay timber swings and a sandstone eel sculpture will be complemented by timber log seating and park seats.

In 2025, Tree Survey was brought on to provide specialist arboricultural services during the project’s planning and design stages.

Our team completed a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to establish precise tree locations and record each tree’s condition, structure and retention value.

We then prepared an Arboricultural Impact Assessment to identify potential impacts from the proposed works.

Lastly, a detailed Tree Protection Plan outlined site-specific protocols for safeguarding retained trees during construction.

All reports were delivered on schedule and within budget. Ultimately, our team supplied Shellharbour City Council with precise arboricultural information and practical measures to guide efficient construction on this established reserve.
