The Birnie Avenue Upgrade forms part of the wider Hill Road Upgrade in Lidcombe, which is improving connections between Parramatta Road, the Carter Street Precinct, Sydney Olympic Park and surrounding areas.

More specifically, works at Birnie Avenue focused on intersection adjustments to enhance traffic flow, safety and transport links.

In 2025, lead contractor Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure hired Tree Survey to provide specialist arboricultural services during the upgrade’s planning and delivery.

Our team completed a Tree Survey, GIS Analysis and Preliminary Tree Assessment to establish precise tree locations and accurately record each tree’s condition, structure and retention value.

Next, we prepared an Arboricultural Impact Assessment to identify potential impacts associated with the proposed works.

Additionally, a detailed Tree Protection Plan supplied clear drawings, accurate mapping and practical measures for managing retained trees during construction.

These services equipped Abergeldie and Transport for NSW with accurate tree data, insights and protection measures to support sustainable and efficient construction along Birnie Avenue. All reports were provided on time and within budget.
