The Bailey Street Footpath Connection in Adamstown was completed in 2022 as part of the City of Newcastle’s $1 million upgrade to pedestrian infrastructure. This project aimed to improve safety, accessibility, and connectivity while supporting the city’s broader push for walkable, active neighbourhoods.
Tree Survey was engaged to provide specialist arboricultural services throughout the planning and development phases.
Our scope of work included performing a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to document existing vegetation along the proposed footpath alignment.
We then prepared an Arboricultural Impact Assessment to evaluate potential effects on retained trees and prepared a Tree Protection Plan to safeguard significant vegetation during construction.
All services were delivered in close collaboration with council project teams, ensuring that tree protection measures were effectively implemented on-site.
The project was completed on schedule, within budget, and without incident—successfully contributing to the city’s commitment to expand its footpath network by over 3,500 metres.
