It includes consideration of alternative bank treatments that move away from rigid concrete construction, alongside water-sensitive design elements to treat runoff before it enters the river system.

Set within a reserve, these works require precise coordination along the channel edge where established trees intersect with proposed stabilisation zones, access routes, and construction footprints. In some instances, removal is necessary to accommodate the proposed alignment and construction methodology.

In 2023, Tree Survey was engaged to provide arboricultural input during the upgrade’s early planning phase.

First, we completed a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to accurately record tree locations, condition, and structure across the alignment. This informed an Arboricultural Impact Assessment of construction interactions, including excavation, bank reconstruction, and access. A targeted Tree Protection Plan was then developed to provide practical guidance moving forward.

This approach ensured arboricultural considerations were clearly defined, supporting practical planning decisions and reducing uncertainty as the project progressed. All services were completed on time and within budget.
