Keys Road branches off the Illawarra Highway, traversing a rural landscape rich in roadside vegetation. Led by Shellharbour City Council, its rehabilitation required careful consideration of existing trees within and adjacent to the roadworks footprint.

In 2023, Tree Survey delivered comprehensive arboricultural services to support project planning and site management. To begin, we conducted a detailed Tree Survey using precise location mapping to capture individual tree positions, species, dimensions and other key characteristics.

This was followed by a Preliminary Tree Assessment to evaluate health, structural integrity and retention value in accordance with relevant industry standards.

Next, an Arboricultural Impact Assessment was performed to define potential construction encroachments, quantify likely impacts and provide practical recommendations for avoidance or mitigation.

Lastly, we developed a site-specific Tree Protection Plan, which featured clear drawings, protection measures and methodology guidance for contractors.

Ultimately, our expert team delivered accurate field data and actionable reports on time and within budget. This reliable information helped Shellharbour City Council to meet compliance requirements and make informed decisions throughout the rehabilitation works.
