Transport Heritage NSW is collaborating with the Australian Government to deliver the Chullora Heritage Hub. This ongoing project strives to revitalise a historically significant rail precinct to support operations, exhibitions and community engagement.
Stage 1 upgrades to the Tank Annex building have helped to store, secure and preserve the state’s heritage trains and carriages, while Stage 2 will focus on restoring the former Locomotive Workshop.
Delivered within an active and constrained site, these works demand careful coordination between construction activities, existing assets, and the surrounding natural environment. In 2021, Tree Survey was enlisted to provide specialist arboricultural services during the project’s planning phase.
Our scope included a Tree Survey and Preliminary Tree Assessment to accurately document existing vegetation, followed by an Arboricultural Impact Assessment to identify potential impacts associated with the proposed works. Finally, a tailored Tree Protection Plan was prepared to help safeguard retained trees during construction.
This rigorous documentation provided precise tree locations, clear mapping and well-defined protection requirements, equipping the project team with a reliable reference for planning and site setup prior to construction. All of our services were delivered on time and within budget.
